Time Is Of The Essence
In strategy and entrepreneurship, time really is money. There is a real financial repercussion of being late to market, taking too long to pivot, or learning a lesson too late. Ignite Sessions are designed to cover great distances in the shortest amount of time possible by being laser-focused on one core piece of your strategy. If you’re not sure which area you should focus on, take our Strategic Priorities Assessment to find out.
Ignite Sessions originated in response to a challenge we ourselves were facing. We had a new strategy but were often too busy with ‘business-as-usual’ to make much progress with planning, much less executing, Step 1. Why
Ignite Sessions originated in response to a challenge we ourselves were facing. We had a new strategy but were often too busy with ‘business-as-usual’ to make much progress with planning, much less executing, Step 1. Then we started to hear similar complaints from our clients, particularly since the pandemic. Between us and our clients, we seemed to be trying every approach under the sun to get strategies planned and executed. Fast forward six months and nothing really had been done to advance the strategy, despite what felt like endless meetings, presentations and reports.
We realised that in the world is changing too quickly to try to apply the traditional approach to project planning to strategy. Even the agile methodology, which we are fans of, is not appropriate for all types of strategy execution projects (like some people-related, R&D and infrastructure development initiatives). We go into this more here. In a perfect world, you want your strategy to gain momentum and become easier and easier to execute, not harder. Think of it like starting a bonfire or barbecue grill. One you ignite that fire and it starts to catch, keeping it going is a breeze.
How
Ignite Session kickstart your strategy by planning execution sprints. We have adapted the best elements of agile thinking to
Step 1: Select Your Focus
We’ve narrowed down the areas where we believe we add the most value. If your challenge does not fit any of these areas, feel free to select the Open Consultation option.
STRATEGY REVIEW
Submit your strategy and we’ll review it and spend the day refining and/or revising it to ensure it is effective.
STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE
A weak core will compromise the entire organistion. Refocus on your purpose, problems you solve and brand.
PRIORITISE CHALLENGES
Strategies solve challenges, but if you try to solve too many at once, you end up solving none at all. Prioritise.
CUSTOMER ORIENTATION
Customer orientation aligns all aspects of the organisation to serve the needs and desires of your target audience.
COMPETITIVE EDGE
What’s your secret sauce? Where are you positioned in your market? Don’t know? Well, this session is for you.
CAPABILITIES AND RESOURCES
Most strategies don’t map and assess the needed capabilities and resources. This session fixes that problem.
CULTURE ACTIVATION
Culture seldom is specifically mentioned in strategies.
